Please see below several possible causes for high CPU usage and how it can be fixed:

One of the most common causes of high CPU usage is too many running apps or background processes. To check if this is the case, use Task Manager to see which apps or processes are using the most CPU. To open Task Manager, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc on your keyboard, or right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager. In the Task Manager, click on the CPU column to sort the apps or processes by their CPU usage. You can also see the overall CPU usage at the top of the window.

If you see any apps or processes that are using a lot of CPU and you don't need them, you can close them by right-clicking on them and selecting End task. This will free up some CPU resources and improve your performance. However, be careful not to end any system processes that are essential for Windows 11 to run properly.

Another possible cause of high CPU usage is malware infection. Malware can run hidden processes in the background that consume a lot of CPU and harm your computer. To check if your computer is infected with malware, run a full scan with a reliable antivirus program. You can use Windows Security, which is built into Windows 11, or any other antivirus program that you trust. To run a scan with Windows Security, please follow these steps:

• Click on the Start button and select Settings.

• Click on Privacy & security and then Virus & threat protection.

• Click on Scan options and then Full scan.

• Click on Scan now and wait for the scan to complete.

• If any threats are detected, follow the instructions to remove them.

High CPU usage might also be caused by outdated or corrupted drivers. To update the drivers, you can use Device Manager or professional software.
