bluetooth dissapeared from device manager after cleanup
Hi,
I did a rigorous cleanup and driver update on a old(er) laptop, after years of limited maintenance. Using Auslogic software (driver update,bootspeed,duplicate finder) and some manual cleaning/updating, Something went wrong, not sure exactly where. Now I can not use/connect bluetooth devices anymore. I tried to solve it by doing some reasearch on the internet but can not find the solution. Otherwise the Laptop is working fine and is a lot faster.
Enclosed you will find some information of the laptop and screenshots of what I think is relevant information.
I also noticed that Bluetooth is not longer available at the 'action center' and 'device manager'. The latter one still shows some bluetooth devices but is hidden and do not seem to be the relevant items.
In 'Settings> bluetooth and other devices', the previously connected bluetooth devices are still there but it clearly states that bluetooth is turned off.
Could you please advise me on how to solve this.

FYI I am an experienced user, however certanly not a Windows specialist.

There are several possible solutions that you can try to fix this issue and restore your Bluetooth connection:
1. Check if your laptop has a physical switch or a keyboard shortcut to turn on or off the Bluetooth adapter. Sometimes, the switch or the shortcut may be accidentally pressed, causing the Bluetooth to be disabled. You can look for a Bluetooth icon on your laptop or consult your laptop's manual to find the switch or the shortcut. If you find it, try to turn the Bluetooth adapter on and see if it works.
2. Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to diagnose and fix any Bluetooth-related problems. For this:
- press Windows Key+S;
- type control panel, hit Enter;
- once Control Panel is up, go to the top-right corner of the window and click the View By option;
- select Large Icons from the options;
- click Troubleshooting;
- on the left-pane menu, click View All;
- select Hardware and Devices from the list, then click Next;
- follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter and apply all suggested fixes.
3. Update your Bluetooth driver to ensure that your Bluetooth adapter is compatible with your laptop and your devices. You can do this manually by going to the Device Manager and right-clicking your Bluetooth adapter. Then, select Update driver and choose the option to search automatically for updated driver software. Alternatively, you can use Auslogics Driver Updater to update the drivers automatically.

I already checked all 3 suggestions you made multiple times, unfortunately not a solution. Below my response item by item :
- No physical bluetooth switch on this laptop
- The trouble shooter was not able to solve it. I did make prinscreens if you are interested, but no idea how to attach a file to this message.
- Update driver, how would that be possible ?? As mentioned in my previous mail, bluetooth is not showing op in the device manager, so the option to update the diver is also not available. (see also attachments of previous message)
Any other suggestions ?

In case you’ve updated the Bluetooth adapter driver via Auslogics Driver Updater prior to the problem occurred, please revert it using the Restore option (Driver Updater => Restore => select Bluetooth adapter driver => press the Restore button).
We recommend skipping suggested Bluetooth updates for the time being.
Please run a scan and send a screenshot showing offered Bluetooth drivers. Kindly send us your system information report as well. For this: press Start -> Run, type in MSINFO32 and press the Enter button. Save the report using the File -> Save menu option.

I already checked all 3 suggestions you made multiple times, unfortunately not a solution. Below my response item by item :
- No physical bluetooth switch on this laptop
- The trouble shooter was not able to solve it. I did make prinscreens if you are interested, but no idea how to attach a file to this message.
- Update driver, how would that be possible ?? As mentioned in my previous mail, bluetooth is not showing op in the device manager, so the option to update the diver is also not available. (see also attachments of previous message)
Any other suggestions ?

There are several possible solutions that you can try to fix this issue and restore your Bluetooth connection:
1. Check if your laptop has a physical switch or a keyboard shortcut to turn on or off the Bluetooth adapter. Sometimes, the switch or the shortcut may be accidentally pressed, causing the Bluetooth to be disabled. You can look for a Bluetooth icon on your laptop or consult your laptop's manual to find the switch or the shortcut. If you find it, try to turn the Bluetooth adapter on and see if it works.
2. Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to diagnose and fix any Bluetooth-related problems. For this:
- press Windows Key+S;
- type control panel, hit Enter;
- once Control Panel is up, go to the top-right corner of the window and click the View By option;
- select Large Icons from the options;
- click Troubleshooting;
- on the left-pane menu, click View All;
- select Hardware and Devices from the list, then click Next;
- follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter and apply all suggested fixes.
3. Update your Bluetooth driver to ensure that your Bluetooth adapter is compatible with your laptop and your devices. You can do this manually by going to the Device Manager and right-clicking your Bluetooth adapter. Then, select Update driver and choose the option to search automatically for updated driver software. Alternatively, you can use Auslogics Driver Updater to update the drivers automatically.
