Documents not opening

Thank you for posting your question on our forum.

Please follow the instructions below in order to address your issue. Check if the problem is solved after each performed fix.

1. Install all available updates for the OS.

2. Run MS Office installer -> Quick Repair.

3. Launch MS Office Installer -> Online Repair.

4. Open MS Office Installer -> Reinstalled it.

5.1. Log in as the affected user with administrator permissions and launch the command prompt. To achieve this, type cmd into the Windows search box and click “Command Prompt”; the window that appears should read as follows:

5.2. Copy and paste in the command prompt the string shown below:

for /f ‘tokens=2 skip=6’ %G in (‘whoami /user’) do reg delete hku%G_ClassesVirtualStoreMACHINE /f

andpress ‘Enter’.

6. Try to totally delete MS Office and reinstall it.

7. Try checking for and installing Microsoft Office updates:

• open Word or any other Office application, and start a new document;

• select File > Account (or Office Account if you opened Outlook);

• click on Update Options > Update Now under Product Information.

Note: If the Update Now option doesn’t appear straight away, you might need to select Enable Updates first.

• Close the ‘You’re up to date!’ popup once Office is done with the updates.

The Update Options function may also be used to view previously installed updates or to disable updates.

8. You can update Office from Microsoft Store if you bought it using the Microsoft Store app on your Windows device.

• Quit all Office programs.

• Type “Microsoft Store” into the taskbar search box and hit Enter to launch the Microsoft Store app.

• Be sure to connect to the Microsoft account linked to your Office license before clicking the icon as shown in the screenshot below:

• Select Downloads and Updates by clicking the icon as shown in this screenshot:

• Press Get Updates.

If you get the message “You’re good to go” after selecting Get Updates, you don’t need to install any further updates.

I thought I would get my answer within hours, not days!

I rang Microsoft instead. They discovered that Microsoft Windows and Office had been uninstalled on 30/09/22, the date that the last Auslogics was run! They reinstalled the deleted files and had it working within about 90 minutes. Very disappointed with your response timing and also deletion of my programs that could only have been done by your application! I was not a happy bunny.

We are truly sorry that you had such difficulties.

BoostSpeed ​​does not uninstall apps automatically. The programs can be removed manually using the Uninstall Manager utility.

To avoid such situations in the future, we recommend creating backups for all BoostSpeed modules (Settings > Rescue Center). This way, in case some extra files have been removed, you can easily restore them with a few clicks (Rescue Center > Backup > Restore).
