How to auto select duplicates per drive in DFF 11?

Dear support,

I have officially purchased the software.

In previous versions I could auto-select duplicates *except* from a source drive I want to keep untouched. In version 11 this option is gone.

I have thousands of duplicate files, so selecting one by one is not practical.
I need to keep all files on my main source drive, and auto-select duplicates only from two other drives for deletion.

How can I do this in version 11?

Thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for posting your question on our forum.

Although Duplicate File Finder does not let you choose which drive to delete the files from directly, you can manually select the drive or folder you'd like to search for duplicates in:

  1. After clicking the “Start Scan” button, check the box next to the drive you want to scan or expand the folder list and navigate to the desired folder.
  2. Check the box next to each desired folder to scan them for duplicates.

NOTE:

You can also protect a specified folder from duplicate cleanup by right-clicking it and selecting “Add Folder to the Ignore List.”

Please follow the link, in order to download a Quick Guide to Duplicate File Finder.

Hello David Green,

I bought this software last week, thinking it would be an upgrade compared to version 10 — but unfortunately, it’s a downgrade for me.

I do want to scan my main drive (the source), because it’s necessary to detect duplicates on my two other drives.
However, I don’t want to delete anything from the source. Excluding it from the scan is not a solution.

In version 10, after the scan I could simply right-click a folder or drive and choose “Select All Duplicates Except in This Folder” (see screenshot below).
That feature is gone in version 11, and “Auto Select in All Groups” doesn’t offer the same control.
I have thousands of duplicates, so manual selection isn’t realistic.

Seeing this option is no longer available, I want a refund.
I’d like to make use of the 30-day money-back guarantee.

How can I do this — should I email Auslogics support directly?
