2 years ago, I was messing around with dual-booting and windows partitioning. So much so that an error occured. After I wasn't able to boot back into Windows 10 and deleted ALL my files, I noticed that my maximum capacity was lowered from 256gb to 237gb. It was probably from the dual-booting error. (Was trying to dual-boot an android os or a linux os or smth). I'm running out of storage because I'm too lazy to delete files and I need that 19gb. Respond ASAP, Thanks!

I have two WD 3.6Tb external USB3 drives for backups and storage. These are both deffo HDD! I have discovered that they are TRIM enabled ... BUT, you don't trim HD's, do you??? I have had had trouble with them in the past due to increasing slowness and defragmentation. Sometimes Defrag Ultimate just couldn't finish a HDD defrag or gave up and stood still, but didn't crash either! Defrag Ultimate treats them as HDD's, but I am wondering if actually SSD Trimming them and then HDD Defragging them might solve or reduce my problems. But, I don't want to try this if I am going to damage them. So how should I treat them generally and within Defrag Ultimate

Someone mentioned I should use this, but also said, in accordance with info online, that "defragging" an onboard SSD will cause issues. I'm directly confused by this and would appreciate some guidance on what is correct here.

After updating 26 drivers on my lenovo ideapad it now fails to start and will not even go into safe mode, cant do automatic repair or anything. help, not this pc!

Tenho uma unidade SSD externa que não esá sendo reconhecida pelo gerenciador de arquivos e nem pelo gerenciador de discos mesmo tendo feito os procedimentos básicos.

I have two external HD of exactly the same size, 3.63 TB, they both hace exactly the same amount of data stored on them both, 1.84 TB, 2240 files, 61 folders. My issue is that the "free space" shows a difference amount, 1.50 TB verse 1.55 TB. I have ensured that recycle bin on them both are empty and ran every program that would make sense with the confines of BoostSpeed 13 and nothing seems to make any difference. This isn't the only example of this sort of thing happening. I'm bewildered. Please advise.

My SSD took several days to recover, via an automated Microsoft Windows process.

My disk had a C: drive, for OS and D: drive for my files, photo's etc. While the c: drive was recovered, the d: drive has disappeared. How can I recover the D: drive, please?

so i have ran check disk a few times on a external hard drive to see if i can possibly repair the thing and if not recover some things that are still on it. windows does not recognize the drive but 3rd party software does, so as i'm running check disk it sees one bad sector like at somewhat of the begging of the scan then it continues and runs almost to the end of the scan but does'nt qiute finish the scan, instead it suddenly stops, the screen goes black for a second and then it reboots windows and thats it. no log of what happened at the time of crash or the condition of the drive or the end result...nothing. so i'm wondering if you can shed some light on the situation and maybe some remedies if any? thanks, cweklund

P.S. under device at the top of this inquery what I choose does'nt apply to my question i just had to put something there so it would send. this is in regards to an external drive i have.

I'm evaluation BoostSpeed and one of the ways that it will save me 3Gb of disk space is to do a Disk Defrag. My hard drive is an SSD and I thought that defragging an SSD was not advised by several well known industry experts. Please explain - Thank you!

mysteriosly at some time this drive got extra partition. it originally had terbyte. I install seagate disc wizard, which recognized the second partition, but when I asked it to delete the partition it did not nor did it explain why not. of course when I asked windows 10 to format the drive, it only formatted the first partition (only 4gb). I want only ONE partition at this time
