HDD and SSD Issues

I'm evaluation BoostSpeed and one of the ways that it will save me 3Gb of disk space is to do a Disk Defrag. My hard drive is an SSD and I thought that defragging an SSD was not advised by several well known industry experts. Please explain - Thank you!

so i have ran check disk a few times on a external hard drive to see if i can possibly repair the thing and if not recover some things that are still on it. windows does not recognize the drive but 3rd party software does, so as i'm running check disk it sees one bad sector like at somewhat of the begging of the scan then it continues and runs almost to the end of the scan but does'nt qiute finish the scan, instead it suddenly stops, the screen goes black for a second and then it reboots windows and thats it. no log of what happened at the time of crash or the condition of the drive or the end result...nothing. so i'm wondering if you can shed some light on the situation and maybe some remedies if any? thanks, cweklund

P.S. under device at the top of this inquery what I choose does'nt apply to my question i just had to put something there so it would send. this is in regards to an external drive i have.

Hey guys,

Boost Speed doesn't recognize SSD and claims that it is HDD. Yes, I am sure it is SSD, all other software recognizes it as SSD (programs like Speccy, etc.).

How can this be fixed?

Just installed my Driver Updater on my new PC and after updating the drivers and a required restart I get a Bluescreen with the message "Inacessible Boot Device" adn restarting does not help, nor does turning the desktop off and on again.

What to do now?

How do I create a bootable USB Drive to be booted from the BIOS. It is for a program called "Dariks Boot and Nuke" I need to do a total wipe on my hard drive.

MSR, MMIO, Microcode and FSB? Clock.

I want to change the partitions on an SSD that i use for instant backup. I was hoping Boostspeed had this functionality.

If it exists, please point me to it.

In a nutshell - my desktop freezes for about 5 - 8 seconds and it seems to occur every 2 - 3 minutes. ....It just locked as I'm writting this.

I have two WD 3.6Tb external USB3 drives for backups and storage. These are both deffo HDD! I have discovered that they are TRIM enabled ... BUT, you don't trim HD's, do you??? I have had had trouble with them in the past due to increasing slowness and defragmentation. Sometimes Defrag Ultimate just couldn't finish a HDD defrag or gave up and stood still, but didn't crash either! Defrag Ultimate treats them as HDD's, but I am wondering if actually SSD Trimming them and then HDD Defragging them might solve or reduce my problems. But, I don't want to try this if I am going to damage them. So how should I treat them generally and within Defrag Ultimate

2 years ago, I was messing around with dual-booting and windows partitioning. So much so that an error occured. After I wasn't able to boot back into Windows 10 and deleted ALL my files, I noticed that my maximum capacity was lowered from 256gb to 237gb. It was probably from the dual-booting error. (Was trying to dual-boot an android os or a linux os or smth). I'm running out of storage because I'm too lazy to delete files and I need that 19gb. Respond ASAP, Thanks!

Someone mentioned I should use this, but also said, in accordance with info online, that "defragging" an onboard SSD will cause issues. I'm directly confused by this and would appreciate some guidance on what is correct here.
