so i have ran check disk a few times on a external hard drive to see if i can possibly repair the thing and if not recover some things that are still on it. windows does not recognize the drive but 3rd party software does, so as i'm running check disk it sees one bad sector like at somewhat of the begging of the scan then it continues and runs almost to the end of the scan but does'nt qiute finish the scan, instead it suddenly stops, the screen goes black for a second and then it reboots windows and thats it. no log of what happened at the time of crash or the condition of the drive or the end result...nothing. so i'm wondering if you can shed some light on the situation and maybe some remedies if any? thanks, cweklund

P.S. under device at the top of this inquery what I choose does'nt apply to my question i just had to put something there so it would send. this is in regards to an external drive i have.

Why can I not remove any brower add-ons (FF, Chrome) through the internet Optimizer? It shows the add-ons but says a setting or synchronization is preventing the process?

Hello! Today my screen flickered and I couldn't use any browsers, I've tried chrome, firefox, edge, opera. It opens and when I try to click a link, it just goes back to the prevous screen. I can't even get your update from the link inthe app. it takes me to your site and when I click on update, it just does nothing. I can't do a search or click a bookmark.
I'm on windows 10 Pro.
I tried a system restore from your app and it failed with an error about the restore point was damaged.%programfiles%\windowsapps
AppxStaging.
So I tried it within windows. same errors.
I can't do anything that involves a browser.
I did a scan with malwarebytes, found nothing.
Not sure how to fix this.

I have an Omen computer by H.P. The last time I used my windows to go USB on my Omen it worked, however unfortunately I could not boot my main hard drive and had to reinstall windows on the Omen. Both units are Windows 11 Home. The windows to go is still on the USB and I have my recovery keys but I am afraid to boot from it or it might leave my Omen in a bad place. The blue screen said the boot files had missing information or the configuration was missing of the boot files. How can I avoid this in the future, or should I format my USB and not risk it on this machine? I am running the latest bios. It's a Cruzer Glide 3.0, 128 GB.

I have lost my icons on the desktop!

After running Bootspeed for the first time in a long time, I get the error message, "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application." It affects my Bluetooth, plus it is annoying to have the error message popup on my screen every five minutes. Do you recommend that I go to "Restore Points"? I have an early February date available.

After running features in boost speed, I have a flie folder that will not stay deleted from my home screen.

The screen also loses the background image from time to time.

I do nave an Nvidia GEFORCE RTX video card, but that was never an issue prior to running the product. Most of the time video runs off of the motherboard.

Can you help me to correct these issues?

Is it possible to disable scanning and updating the tweak for location services during a scan?

I always have to use regedit after scanning and resolving to bring location services back to normal, that is ENABLED.

See instructions below.

Open Registry Editor by typing regedit in the Start menu search bar.
Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\LocationAndSensors.
If the LocationAndSensors folder doesn't exist, create it.
Inside LocationAndSensors, create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value named DisableLocation and set its value data to 0.
Restart your computer

Установленная у меня лицензионная программа Auslogic BootSpeed 11 постоянно конфликтует с программой ESET Internet Security версии 12.2, а программа Dr.Web Curelt! просто удаляет Auslogic BootSpeed 11, как несущую угрозу компьютеру (вирусная угроза!). wifi wont display networks and wifi wonbt even turn on

I have recently upgraded my Win10 x64 PC to version 2004 from Windows update. Prior to the upgrade the PC was clean and fast and the system drive was defragmented using Auslogics Defrag Ultimate. Fopllowing the upfgrade and subsequent cleanup, I ran defrag again and the drive now has approximately 20% of its used capacity filled with files that Auslogics Defrag will not identify (light green block icons, mouse click for file info invokes the prompt "This block contains file system service data. Detailed view is not available".

This is obviously some several GB of data judging by the number of blocks occupied in this manner - but I am unablæe to find out what these files are, what they are called, what purpose they serve or where they are on the drive. They are spread out across the system drive and thus prevent defrag running a free space defragmentation, and thus casue even more fragmentation when new files are added to the drive.

I have tried tio google this problem but have not found any reference to it. Auslogics defrag is the only untility that tells me these file exist - but no more than that.

Can you advice - what are these files, and how do I get rif them and run the usually perfect free space defrag?
